During this last week of term we will be revisiting what we have covered in maths so far and applying our knowledge in many practical ways through our continuous provision. Home work will be given out for over the holiday and please continue to practise phonics and share story books with your child. Have a great Christmas!
Year 1
This week, in Maths, Year1 will be using their skills to solve subtraction problems. In English, we will be watching the story of Moz and writing main clauses using the conjunction 'and'.
Please note, the children can wear their Christmas jumpers on Wednesday and Friday. Christmas dinner is on Wednesday. Please remember that school ends at 1.15 on Friday. Thank you.
Year 2
Year 2 will be moving on to time in maths. In English, we will be continuing writing from our book 'Bob, man on the moon'. In Science, we will be doing an investigation with snails.
Year 3
This week in English, we are working on improving our choice of vocabulary to make our writing more interesting and create a clear image in the mind of the reader. In maths, we are using rulers and our calculation skills to find the perimeter of regular and irregular polygons. We are really excited for our trip to the Panto and beginning some Christmas fun!
Year 4
With a week of performances under our belts, we return to some normality for this final week <<>> We have our trip to the panto <<
Year 5
In maths, we are exploring angles. We will be identifying the different types of angels as well as measuring using a protractor. This will include angles on a straight line and around a point.
In English, we are continuing to focus on using conjunctions and we will be incorporating this into our curriculum writing.
Year 6
This week, we will be researching the different crimes and punishments committed in the 21st century. In writing, we will be using all of our skills that we learnt this year to write a Christmas narrative.
