Assessments

  • There are short, frequent assessments (usually in the form of quizzes) to enable students to show their understanding of what has been taught, and to inform teachers’ next steps in their planning.

  • Curriculum quizzes are completed for the wider curriculum at the beginning of each topic to inform the subsequent lessons.

  • Children’s writing ability is assessed each day when the teacher ‘live marks’ the children’s work via Google documents. This gives the children the opportunity to feedback and edit their work throughout the lesson.

  • Ongoing assessment is conducted during the live sessions by targeted questioning and group feedback using the chat, the whiteboard website, thumbs up to the camera and write it, show me methods.
