It’s been a really fun eight weeks living outside the year six classes. This week, we had the added pleasure of meeting some of the parents during parent’s evening: it’s fair to say they really were a quacking bunch. We are really sad that we won’t get to see the children for two weeks as it is half-term. We know they’ll have a quacking time and will definitely recharge their batteries. The three of us will just have to make do with each other. See you all on the 5th November. Donald, Daffy and Daisy

It’s been another busy duck week for every one in year six. Although Daisy has laid two more eggs, sadly the first six didn’t produce any babies. Since she’s laid the eggs, Daisy is spending most of her time hiding in the bushes but she won’t tell us why. After much quacking by the three of us, the DLT (Duck Leadership Team) have finally been picked. We are really pleased with our selection and can’t wait for them to get their lanyards. We will tell you more about them over the next few weeks. One good thing about the DLT is that they really are doing a good job of keeping our pond clean. The children completed their important tests and we were really quiet. In fact , we were so quiet that Mrs Springate sent someone out to check we hadn’t escaped. As you can imagine, the arrival of a year six pupil during test time sent us into a real duck flap. Finally, Mr Bradley (you might have heard of him) wants the name of the duck blog changed to duck tales or does he want it to be duck tails! Before we make a decision, we are hoping that Mr B explains to us (in person and with treats) his reasons for this. Have a quacking week.

Friday was Gray's Farm Harvest festival and we were once again overwhelmed by your generosity! The stage area was full of your donations to give to those less fortunate in our community. Reverend Neil came to our assembly and shared with us the importance of Harvest for Christians and how food banks are impacting the communities around the country. He read us a story that reminded us to be grateful for the food that we have and all of the people that make our food. Once again - a BIG thank you!

Well, it really has been an exciting week. First of all the rain, oh the lovely rain. It’s definitely been perfect weather for a duck (we’re not so sure the teachers felt the same). Secondly, and probably most importantly, Daisy has laid eggs – at the last count there were 7. Obviously, all three of us are really thrilled by this news. We are not sure if the eggs will hatch but we are all waiting patiently. Thankfully, the children have been really kind and left the eggs alone. Lots of the children went home and researched what Daisy needs to do to look after the eggs – not that she’s listened. We’ve heard a rumour that we need to be extra quiet this week as the children are taking part in some tests. Apparently, our quacking might disturb them!

Well, it’s now our third week of blogging and we have a lot to tell you. It’s been another fun filled week with lots of laughter. Last week, some of the girls helped to tidy our shed, where we sleep at night. They literally used the entire bag of straw in one go. Our bed was so cosy that we took ourselves off for a little afternoon nap. All three of us are hoping that those girls are allowed to add the clean bedding again. The highlight of the week was when Donald decided to chase Mrs Taylor around the patio. He was trying to peck the gold bits off her shoes! Luckily, some of the children were there to help her escape. Because we didn’t want her to feel left out, Donald tried the same thing with Miss Merrick. Her only means of escape was to climb on to the bench! Everyone in year six left their lessons to watch. (Oops, we really did cause chaos but it was worth it.) Until next week…

It’s been another fun week living outside the year six classrooms. The children are so kind. Every day we are getting some type of treat – we’ve eaten lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes (absolutely delicious) and the crunchy carrots. Thank you everyone for this and for our other treats. We must have the cleanest home imaginable. Every day, one of the many, many helpers sweep up and wash away our mess. We’ve even had our pond water cleaned. Last Friday was our favourite day because we listened to 6 Pine and Poplar singing ‘London’s burning’. We were very brave and waddled into the class to see what was going on – it was an amazing experience. If you listen to us carefully, you can hear us quacking that tune. Hopefully, they will learn a new song this week. Until next week, Donald, Daisy and Daffy

Quack, quack, we are the new addition to year six — Donald, Daisy and Daffy. Since joining year six, we have been extremely spoilt with the number of presents we have received. Here we are admiring our new ‘pond’ where we have been perfecting our swimming skills—just like the year six children. Everyone in year six seem quite nice although they are really struggling to learn how to speak ‘Duck’. We will be writing a weekly blog to keep you all updated on what we have been doing. Apparently, there is talk of us being allowed on the field at lunchtimes from next week - we have everything crossed that this happens.
